Four King hero

Check out the venue for the corporate entertainment poker jolly that I went on last night. The view was spectacular. My tourno was on floor 24 (as marked up) and the views were ace.

I got a mention for having the best hand of the night - four kings. At least something went right for me after the disaster with the Pool in the CL.

You got 4 kings?
Did you manage to win that hand? How much did you lose altogether, then? You're not known as 'The ATM' for nothing!

Ok, further details of my best hand ever:

1. King Jack in the pocket for Lunt. A few opponents, one of which it turned out had pocket twos.

2. Flop of K K 2. Lunt thinks he's king dong with his three Kings and puts in a moderate bet. Called by three people, one of who was slow-playing his much better twos full of Kings full house (unknown to me).

3. Crapola on the turn. Small amount of betting.

4. Lunt can’t believe his eyes when he hits his King on the river giving him four Kings (and the dogs gonads) and the other guy gets Kings full of twos. I went all in (I was first to bet) and was called by two short stacks and the guy with the full house – i.e. everyone else called.

Full house man was honestly as sick as a dog when I flipped the king over. I did it in style as well - first I flipped the Jack, then waited a sec or two to build the drama, then flipped the King. What a bastard!

Even though it was a play game with no money involved, my hand was shaking at the end and the full house guy looked absolutely gutted. I even got a massive cheer and they mentioned my name in the prize giving ceremony at the end for having the best hand of the night! Ace! I love poker!

Knocked out when they ran out of time and put the blinds up so that no one left in could survive more than two rounds of blinds.

Masterful. Basically, you couldn't have extracted better value from your hand. Shame that you've now used up a year's supply of luck on a no-money tournament. I'm sure that we can have a game or three when we go skiing in 2.5 weeks' time!

Skiing in 2.5 weeks time? Gits.

Looks like I'm heading to the south island for the ski season (roughly June-October), so feel free to pop over for a visit.
